You might be using all the right hair products, washing your hair often, but you might just not be washing it the right way!
Here are the top advices on how to take proper care for your hair and sculp and how to clean it the right way!
Use warm and filtered water – many of us just love a hot, steamy bath. But that’s just not good for your hair and it’s making it dry and looking lifeless.
If you use hair color, this will make the color fade more quickly. The best tip is to wash your hair with warm water and just before going out of the shower, rinse it off with cold water.
This will make the natural oil of the scalp to stay and the pores of the head to close from the cold water. Also, investing in a water filter is good for your hair and your health. They remove the chlorine out of the water.
Choose the right shampoo
It’s a hard thing to do, I know, especially with all the awesome scents hair shampoos come in! but, you should always choose a shampoo that suits your hair type – colored, curly, straight, thick, thin, oily or dry.
Also, don’t put too much of shampoo on you. This will only make your hair to be puffy and not so easy to manage. If you bleach your hair, you should use soft and clarifying shampoos, what will prevent it from further breaking and also, keep the yellow tones away. If you don’t really know your hair type, trying a shampoo that says “hydrating” is the best option.
Avoid washing your hair every day
Rinsing off the natural oils that the scalp is trying so hard to produce, just for you to wash them away on a daily bases, only makes the hair dry and not able to grow naturally. For most hair types, even for the oily ones, washing it 3 times per week is enough. Because the scalp will give twice the effort to produce the natural oil anyway, you will just have more oily hair with washing it every day.
Gently massage the scalp and the roots of the hair
Massage of the head is so relaxing, especially in the shower. But it’s also stimulating the growth of new hair! Apply minimal pressure and don’t scratch with the nails. Do this for 2 minutes and then proceed with applying the hair mask.
Leave the conditioner to stay for at least 5 minutes
You should never hurry up with the conditioner, because this substance needs time to react on the hair. Also, never put conditioner directly on the scalp – it is meant for conditioning the ending parts of the hair.
Towel dry your hair
Immediately after going out of the shower, put a dry towel on your head, but don’t ever dry it with massaging the towel to your head! This will break a lot of hair and also make it electrized and difficult to manage afterwards. Not to mention, you will look like a dandelion.
