Natural Hair Lightener !

Are you planning some changes on your appearance lately? Maybe want to try a new hair trend and make your hair more colorful, or try an hombre? Professional hair saloons are crazy expensive, plus, your hair is going to look excellent for just a week, after which, your hair is going to look damaged as hell from all those chemicals and blanche.

If you want DIY experiments and enjoy getting things done by yourself, here is a list of bunch of things you can find at your home and use as natural lighteners.

Chamomile

Just make a cup of chamomile tea, but make it stronger and use natural herbs instead of tea bags if you have. Let it cool a bit and soak your hair with the warm tea. Let it stay as much as you can – the longer it stays, the lighter the hair.

Honey and olive oil 

This mixture is a double win – not only will it make your hair lighter, but also, olive oil is an excellent moisturizer for the hair and sculp. Mix a ¼ cup of olive oil and the same amount of honey, stir it well so you get a homogenous mixture. Apply it on the hair and leave it for an hour before washing it off.

Vinegar soak

Raw apple cider vinegar brings out the red tones in your hair and you will look naturally ginger! Mix the vinegar with water – the mixture should be half-half, and let it soak for about an hour.

Cinnamon

This super smelly spice can also bring out the red tones from your hair. You can thicken your conditioner with cinnamon, making it look like a paste and put on your (dry) hair leaving it for few hours before washing off. The best results you’ll get if you cover your hair with a bag and let it stay overnight.

Baking soda

Baking soda can lighten the teeth, and even silver, so why couldn’t it be used for lightening a smooth material such as your hair? Mix ¼ of baking soda and mix it with water, but not much, because you need to get a mixture that looks like paste. Leave it wor at least half an hour before washing off, but beware to make the paste not too thick or not too liquid, because it won’t work.

Henna

There are different colors of henna, but you also have the “clear color” which makes your hair look smoother and lighter, brings out the golden tones of your hair. Use 3 teaspoons of henna powder and boil it into chamomile tea, putting inside  2 teaspoons of olive oil and one squeezed lemon, and let it cool off the night. Soak the parts of your hair or the whole hair, wrapping it around with a bag and let it stay for at least 3 hours.

Salt 

if you noticed your hair getting lighter after getting back from vacation – it is because of the salt. You can use salty water to lighten your hair any time of the year.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C can make your hair lighter but also healthier and thicker. Take 9-10 capsules of vitamin C and crush them in powder. Put them in a small bottle of shampoo, mixing your regular shampoo with them. This way your hair will lighten up slower than using the other stuff described in this article.

Lemon

Lemon contains natural vitamin C, so it will have the same effect. Just dry 2 lemons and mix them with water, soaking your hair or the parts you want to lighten up and let it dry. Don’t wash off.
