Kidney Stone Home Remedies You Haven’t Heard Of

If your body is prone to kidney stones, or you’re just not living the healthy lifestyle that you are supposed to be living in order for your body to not be prone to creating kidney stones, we’ve made up a list of 21 remedies for kidney stones.

It’s up to you to jus start doing what your body is asking you to do.

  1. Water

    Drink a lot of water. Literally. Maybe a gallon per day or even more if you have kidney stones. Eventually, you’ll flush them out.

  2. Onion decoction

    Here’s how you can make an onion decoction: Boil 2 to 3 small onions in pot with one glass of water for about 15 minutes. Drain the water, add some sugar in it, and drink 3 times a day for good results.

    3. Lemon juice & Olive oil

    This recipe claims to help break down smaller kidney stones and flush them out. Here’s how to take it: ¼ cup of lemon juice and the same amount of olive oil, then add 240 ml water. Drink it 3 times per day.

    4. Lemon juice with honey or black salt

    Lemon juice on its own in warm or plain water is said to be very effective for kidney stones. A dash of honey or sugar makes it even better.

    5. Coconut water

    There’s a reason why body builders drink coconut water after workouts.

    6. Red Apple

    Apples are prone to oxidation and in turn very effective in the dissolution of kidney stones.

    7. Apple Cider Vinegar

    Dilute 2 tbsp ACV into some warm water and drink every morning.

    8. Okra (Lady’s finger)

    Okra helps to prevent the crystallisation of chemicals in the kidney and thus makes an excellent remedy for kidney stones. Eat it in salads, cooked meals, or try the okra water.

    9. Kidney Beans

    Here’s a recipe for you: Soak the beans overnight, boil in water or pressure cook. Strain the liquid, cool and drink throughout the day.

    10. Pomegranate Seeds

    The whole fruit is amazing, but the seeds are particularly helpful for your kidneys.

    11. Horse gram soup

    Horse gram soupas an accompaniment to crushed pomegranate seed paste is said to be very effective in treating kidney stones.

    Celery is believed to increase the flow of urine and clear toxins from the kidney.

    13. Basil

    Basilis an incredible herb that promotes fluid, mineral and uric acid balance in the kidneys. Make yourself some basil tea, or juice it up and add some honey. Drink ita few times a day.

    Watermelon helps maintain the acid levels in urine.

    15. Radish

    Soak some radish in water overnight. The water if strained and drunk 2 times a day is a popular remedy for kidney stones.

    16. Vegetable Proteins

    It has been proven that higher intake of animal proteins meaning poultry, meat, fish and eggs can make you prone to kidney stones. Try to rely more on vegetarian sources of protein like beans, green peas, quinoa, legumes, almonds, whole grains, green vegetables, fruits, hummus, pulses, soy, etc.

    17. Figs

    Boil 2 figs in a cup of water and drink the liquid it on an empty stomach every morning. This way, you will dissolve kidney stones.

    18. Tomato Juice

    Similarly, if you start drinking tomato juice with a pinch of salt and pepper every morning, you’ll prevent or relieve kidney stones.

    19. Citric Fruit Juices

    Citric acid found in lemons, oranges, limes, etc, can be really helpful in the process of fighting kidney stones.

    20. Pineapple juice & Cinnamon

    Make yourself a delicious and healthy mix of fresh pineapple juice, cinnamon and nutmeg and drink it first thing in the morning and last thing before you go to bed.
